Course Structure and Dates:
Unlike most other level 3 Forest School courses, Acorn Training have found through experience that this method of training is preferred by their learners and has received excellent feedback. Instead of this usual five days training, followed by a further four/five day ‘assessment’ week approximately nine months later, this training programme is completed over 4 x 2 days and 1 x 1 day (9 days in total plus one observed session at your own setting) spaced six to eight weeks apart and within which summative assessment and continuous support and feedback is provided via email, telephone, text, WhatsApp and social media as preferred. It is expected that within this time the tasks set are completed, the portfolio is developed, a six week programme is planned and delivered at own setting (one session of which is observed by Victoria with feedback provided) with the final completed portfolio submitted three months later.
Group sizes will be kept small (6-8 trainees maximum) to provide optimum focus on you as you develop on your journey to becoming a Forest School practitioner.
Dates:
Every day will include an indoor and outdoor element with theoretical aspects covered and hands on, practical experiences. Both elements will be based at indoor and outdoor sites in Clayton le Moors, nr Accrington, Lancashire.
